Toothless

I was in the woods, it was dark and I was walking along a moon-lit path, when I heard something moving in my direction. Fear of an unnatural sort gripped me and I was frozen in my tracks. I could not move… for in front of me was a great lion, larger than any I had ever seen. Its roar was hideous and when he would roar, that unnatural fear would again seize upon my heart. The lion was coming closer, roaring as it drew near… each roar seizing me with such terror, I can’t even describe it… I cried out to the Lord for help and the Spirit said to me… “Notice the lion’s head as it roars”?

I looked again at the fierce beast and for the first time saw that as he roared, he would turn his head away from me… My curiosity was becoming stronger than my fear now, why would this beast turn his head, and what did he NOT want me to see?

Then the Spirit spoke again… “He turns his head because he is toothless” … “He only has his roar left to ignite fear in the hearts of his intended prey” … “Go forth in the name of Jesus and with confidence, wipe your feet on this enemy” … “He will NOT prevail against you as long as you go in Jesus’ name.”

With those words and strong assurance, I went forth and defeated the lion by coming against him in Jesus’ Name… and he was defeated in spite of his roaring and fierce demeanor. The lion’s tactics all came to nothing when I went forth in the name of Jesus… Praise be to God who always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus.

After I had this dream, I was studying the word of God and ran across scriptures that affirmed what the Spirit had spoken to my heart. Jesus Christ had made a show of the devil openly, triumphing over them all by the work of the cross… what a wonderful confidence in knowing I serve a conquering and victorious King! Because He overcame, I too can be victorious…
