About
Susan Compton
I had the privilege of being raised in a small town in the USA by parents who were devout churchgoers and practiced their faith at home. Both my father and mother were singers; my father sang Tenor in a Southern Gospel Quartet for 70 of his 86 years. Our home was always filled with music, primarily Gospel, but we also appreciated artists such as Danny Kaye, Herb Alpert, and Tom Jones.
Gospel music has always been my foundation, and I began singing at church at the age of three. Throughout my youth, I performed as a soloist, in duets, trios, quartets, and with our Youth Choir. This early foundation inspired me to continue developing my musical talents.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to sing in various venues, ranging from intimate settings to large theaters, including the Grand Palace and Promise Theaters in Branson, as well as with the Collins Family Singers in Kimberling City.
While these experiences were enjoyable and exciting, the most fulfilling moments were those spent in ministry. I led Praise and Worship at New Life Temple Church in Hollister, MO, traveled with my Pastor Jerry Haynes and his wife, Merlene, to revivals across the country, and was honored to minister, through music, on mission trips to Russia and Haiti.
Despite life's challenges, including the tragic loss of my sister and niece to murder, financial hardships, and the passing of my husband and other dear ones, I have found comfort in God’s unwavering faithfulness and presence. Indeed, I have lived the scripture where it states He is a very present help in time of need.
It is my hope and desire to share with others, His provision and sustaining power amidst life's adversities, and to encourage all in this walk of faith to strive towards the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Ministering for the Lord, either through word or song, has been the one constant in my life where I feel assured of God's will. When I minister for and unto Him, I believe I am fulfilling my true purpose. It is my sincere hope that each song sung and every word spoken brings ministry and blessing to you, in Jesus' name.
